Being a Captain is time consuming and hard work, this
is the Amateur Pool League’s way of saying thank you for your dedication and
all you have done. This is how it will work. All the Captains in their
division, of both 8-ball and 9-ball teams, will face each other in an 8-ball
tournament division playoff held in your local area. The Captain that wins
the division playoff will represent their division and play in the “Captains
Vegas Qualifier” tournament (City Tournament for Captains) in March. The
Captain that wins the Vegas Qualifier will receive $500.00 toward travel
expenses and paid entry into the BCAPL 8-ball singles
National Tournament in May at the Riviera in Las Vegas.
Captains: Contact your division reps for times and
locations.
There is no entry fee to play in the division playoffs.
It will be an 8-ball format. A player that Captains both 8-ball and
9-ball must use their 8-ball handicap to compete. Players that Captain
9-ball teams only, must use their 9-ball handicap to compete. This will be
similar to an end of session tournament for teams to qualify for the Cities.
The only difference is it will be for Captains only. Captains will need 6
matches played to compete. They must be active with their team and be in
good standing with the league. Once a session starts there cannot be any changes of Captains within their team. Please refer to
your APL rule book and by-laws. If anyone has any questions please call the
office at: 610-269-8302.
